\nLabor Day is just around the corner, time for us to say goodbye to summer and welcome fall.  Fall is a great time to get out and about and to explore Sherman Oaks.<\/p>\n

Try these fun things to do this Labor Day Weekend (or any weekend):<\/p>\n

Antiquing<\/strong><\/p>\n

• Sherman Oaks Antique Mall is located just a mile and a ½ from your Sherman Oaks rental apartment and has over 100 antique dealers that sell antique and vintage items.  Select from vintage d\u00e9cor and accessories, jewelry, antique toys, military and music collectables and so much more.  The Antique Mall is located at 14034 Ventura Blvd.<\/li>\n
• American Vintage has vintage clothing at 14338 Ventura Blvd and is a great hip place to purchase vintage clothing for all ages with friendly clerks and bargains.<\/li>\n
• Aum & Garden located at 13363 Ventura Blvd and is a Sherman Oaks favorite.  This unique shop sells outdoor and indoor d\u00e9cor, clothing, jewelry and more.  Even if you don’t intend to purchase anything this weekend, walking through the shop is an experience you shouldn’t miss.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Parks<\/strong><\/p>\n

  \n
  • Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Park is located ½ mile from ??? and is a nice way to spend a day this long weekend. The park includes a swimming pool, jogging path, sports fields, outdoor fitness equipment, picnic tables and a children’s play area.<\/li>\n
  • Dixie Canyon Park is a small hidden park with .08 trail loop.  This trail hike is a bit tricky because much of the path has been washed out and those a bit squeamish about heights may not want to take this hike.  You will see California’s natural fauna and have a good view at the end of the trail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Museums<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Head into LA and visit the LA Museum of the Holocaust.   This museum may be a bit somber, but it is brilliantly curated and educational.  Listen to Holocaust survivors, take an audio tour via a small iPod.  The Children’s Memorial located upstairs and is in honor of the millions of children that were killed in WWII.<\/li>\n
    • The Getty Center has art exhibits, history, culture, music, walking tours and educational programs – too many to list here.  It is worth the trip.  Parking is $15.00, but most of the exhibits are FREE.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
