Smells and odors can penetrate your apartment and create stale and dull breathing air. Many times the smell won’t even come from inside your house and can be from a neighbor that smokes or from the trash bins outside your balcony. If you are dealing with stale air in your Sherman Oaks apartment, here are three tips to get rid of it.

Carpet: your carpet will capture more smells than you might realize. Try renting a carpet cleaner from your local Wal-Mart (they are cheap) and give any carpets in your apartment a deep cleaning.

Vinegar: is a strong and deodorizing smell. Try mixing in some vanilla and using it to clean furniture or table tops in your living space. If you have a problem room, simply put vinegar in a bowl and let it drown out the smell.

Air purifier: if a deep cleaning is not helping to get rid of that stale smell, try buying an air purifier (you can finds some in the $40 range) and let that get rid of the smell. Buying a humidifier can also do the trick.
