One Simple Recipe for Perfect Mashed Potatoes

  |     |   Apartment Living Sherman Oaks

Mashed potatoes may be the best side dish at the Thanksgiving table (sorry mac & cheese), and luckily they are also one of the easiest to cook. It doesn't take an expert to make the perfect mashed potatoes, and all you really need is 45 minutes, and the desire to cook something great. Let’s get started.

Ingredients
2 pounds of medium sized potatoes

1 stick of room temperature butter
1 cup of warm milk
Pepper

Dash of Kosher salt

Start with your potatoes in a large boiling pot and add salt and cold water. Next cook for about 45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and can be easily pierced with a fork. Now peel the potatoes and place them in a separate bowl (be careful, they’ll be hot).

Now mix in the butter and milk, and begin to mash with the potatoes (you can use a masher or fork). Season to your liking and serve.
