I love cleaning my apartment bathroom so no one ever, but it is a task that needs to be done. How can you get your bathroom sparkling clean without using chemicals?
Here are some safe chemical free cleaning solutions that can help you get and keep your bathroom clean.
Shower, Tub, Counters and Tile
Try a 50/50 vinegar and water solution to clean tiles, counters, cabinets and soap scum in the shower.
Create a baking soda and water paste to clean tough stains. For even tougher stains use a homemade scouring powder using 1 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of salt and ½ cup of borax powder (this can be found at most grocery stores and at Walmart). Sprinkle over the stain and using warm water or vinegar, scrub and rinse.
Toilet
Once a week sprinkle baking soda around the inside of the toilet then dump white vinegar into the water. Using a toilet brush scrub the toilet, don’t forget the hinges and the toilet seat.
Mirrors
You don’t need harsh chemicals (or that blue stuff) to have sparkling clean mirrors. Instead use a homemade solution of 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water in a spray bottle to clean windows and mirrors. Spray the mirror and using a good squeegee start at the top and work your way down for a streak free mirror. This same solution and process can be used on glass shower doors.
Drains and Clogs
Use this natural clog remover to clean drains and remove clogs in your bathroom. Use equal amounts of baking soda and white vinegar. Pour the baking soda down the drain, then pour the vinegar down the drain. Let it fizzle for 10 minutes and pour a kettle of boiling hot water down the drain. Repeat if necessary. If the clog still won’t let up, use a drain snake.
